Police conduct special meeting on the backdrop of Sri Lanka blasts

Mangaluru: A special police meeting was conducted under the leadership of city police commissioner Sandeep Patil on Thursday with the aim to take up precautionary measures and beef up security at all public locations including religious centres, business and malls. The special meeting was held in the backdrop of the serial bomb blasts that occurred in Sri Lanka on Sunday.

During the meeting, Mr Patil emphasized on the need to keep a close watch and be alert to anything suspicious.

The meeting was attended by the administrators of vital institutions like MRPL, NMPT, Mangaluru International Airport (MIA), Infosys and representatives from malls and various religious places.

Advisory issued

Advisory on the steps to be taken regarding security was issued to the representatives and administrators who participated at the meeting. The advisory gave information on how to enhance security by securing compound wall, installing CCTV cameras, metal detectors, hiring security guards post obtaining clearance certificate from the police.
