Police Crack Prostitution Racket Near Srirangapatna; Arrest 22 Persons, Rescue 7 Women

Mandya: Mandya police busted a prostitution racket and arrested 22 persons and rescued 7 women in a raid on Saturday late night on a Daba in Srirangapatna located near Naguvanahalli Gate on Bengaluru-Mysuru national highway.

Underground caves have also been found during the raid used to hide the women who brought for prostitution. Mandya Superintendent of Police Radhika led police team raided the Daba following complaints by the locals on the racket.

Nearly a decade ago police had raided the same Daba inconnection with prostitution racket. However, in recent year, Daba restarted its activities again, the sources said. The women who rescued in the raid were reportedly the natives of Kolkata, Mumbai and Bangladesh. Srirangapatna police have registered a case on the raid and investigation is in progress.
