Police nab a notorious cattle thief

Karkala: A notorious cattle thief has been nabbed by the police team led by Circle inspector Hal Murthi Rao on Thursday, Dec 20. The arrested is allegedly involved in the Mudradi cattle theft case and also in a case of attempt to assault a policemen on duty at Someshwar.
Mohammed Sharif alias Military Sharif (44), a resident of Kasaba Bengre is the arrested suspect. He has several cases of cattle theft lodged against him at various police stations including Kodagu, Madikeri, Kushalnagar, Somawarpet, Shanivarasanthe, Mangaluru, Konaje and Bajpe police station limits.
Altogether he has 12 arrest warrants issued against his name in connection to cases registered in Kodagu district police station limits. Hence he was handed over to the Madikeri police.
