Police raid 800 acre Dera in Sirsa

Sirsa: Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s Dera in Haryana’s Sirsa was raided today by teams of 41 paramilitary companies, Over 400 army men, police of 4 districts, 1 SWAT team, bomb squads, commandos and fire trucks and one dog squad have been deployed for the search operation.,

50 videographers are also a part of the raid team.

What has been termed “sanitization” of the campus is being led by a former judge, AKS Pawar, who has also taken along 70 witnesses.

A pink building known to be Ram Rahim’s “Gufa (cave)” – the house where the women were raped – will be searched.

The police say weapons were found in some of the centres.

Security was beefed up at the main entrance to Dera Sacha Sauda at Satnaam Chowk headquarters in Sirsa district of Haryana on Friday ahead of search operations. 

Curfew has been imposed in the areas surrounding the Dera headquarters. The curfew reportedly will not be relaxed till the search operation is completed.
