Police raid illegal gambling den
20 persons arrested; cash and goods seized

Kundapur: The police raided and illegal recreation club and arrested 20 persons here at Haikady late night on Friday, April 5. Cash and goods worth Rs 20 lakh was seized during the raid.
The arrested are identified as Suresh J Shetty (51), who is the main accused and others including Subhash Shetty(45) from Koteshwara Ankadakatte, Victor Pinto(72) from Bondel church compound, Sudhakara Amin(49) from Malpe Padukere, Kamalaksha Mulya(45) from Tenkabailur, Mogera Pumpwell Shivarama(48), Sudhakar Shetty(41) from Huyyaru Upparige, Vijaya Shetty(53) from Avarse Sungadagoli, Murulidhara(46) from Saligrama, Basheer(35) from Thumbe, Babu Shetty(42) from Kodlady, Geffrey Suhan(30) from Kadri, Naveen(33) from Honnavar, Mohan Naik(40) from Honnavar, Suresh Shetty(47) from Karkala, Sandeep(27) from Belur, Manjunath(28) from Belur, Prashanth(35) from Kaup, Prakash T Gonda(30) from Bhatkal and Vinod(22) from Kateel.
On Friday, the raid was conducted based on credible information that illegal gambling was occurring at Friends Recreation Club which was run by Suresh J Shetty. During the raid the police seized Rd 12 lakh in cash, 12 cars, one mobile phone, two tables and cards.
Shankaranarayana police station has registered a case in this connection.
