Police raid illegal sand mining sites at Brahmavar

Kundapur: Kundapur and Brahmavar Police raided eight locations of sand mining sites at Brahmavar.

Bhoobalan, assistant commissioner (AC) of Kundapur sub-division and Brahmavar police received definite information about illegal sand mining happening here and raided the site. The Police seized 25 boats, 9 Tipper trucks and arrested 61 laborers from the site.

It has been reported that the boat owners escaped and few boats sank due to heavy load.

Srikanth, circle inspector, Brahmavar, Madhu, police sub-inspector, Brahmavar police station, Mahadevappa, an officer of the mining department and other officials took part in the operation.
