Police raid jail premise, recover huge stash

Belagavi: Some prisoners of the Belagavi district jail appear to carry on with a rich life inside the jail premises. In a raid directed on the jail on April 17, a huge stash of grocery items, one Flatron TV, radio, tobacco packets, cigarette packets and other items were seized by the police.
Under the administration of Police Commissioner D C Rajappa, DCP (Law and Order) Seema Latkar and DCP (Crime and Traffic) Mahaning K Nandaganvi, a group of 15 cops and 200 policemen attacked the jail based on some information.
They discovered sugar, boost, wheat flour, maggie noodles, dry fish, wafers, papad, chilies, masala powder, ground nuts, pulses, edible oil, sauces and crokery. They have likewise seized 1.5 kg tobacco, gutkha bundles, sutta packets, four sim cards, one Flatron TV and radio gadget.
