Mandya: The high-voltage battle for Manya Lok Sabha constituency took a violent turn as supporters of Sumalatha Ambareesh and Nikhil Kumaraswamy clashed at Doddarasinakere.

A verbal altercation began among the two factions after Nikhil Kumaraswamy arrived at the village in an open vehicle. Supporters of Sumalatha took objection to this that campaigning is not allowed on the day of polling.

The altercation soon turned violent and the police had to resort to lathi-charge to disperse them.
