Police seize 30 country made bombs at Hebri

Karkala: Hebri police arrested three persons who were carrying 30 country-made bombs at Shivapura near Hebri on Tuesday.

The accused have been identified as Nagesh Nayak (35), Gunakar Shetty (56), and Laxman Shetty (67).

The country-made bombs were found under the seat of a TVS Jupiter.

Speaking to media persons at a press meet at SP office, Dr. Sanjeev M Patil, SP said that during the patrol round, Hebri Police Station Sub Inspector Jagannath T T along with the team, on a tip off, stopped a two–wheeler rider Nagesh Nayak near Shivpura. They found a torch and knife in his bike. During the interrogation, Nagesh Nayak admitted that he was going to the forest to trap wild animals with country made bombs and purchased each bomb for Rs 500 and paid Rs 15000 for the manufacturer Gunakar Shetty.

A case has been registered at Hebri police station.
