Police seize five petrol bombs in Chikkamagaluru

Chikkamagaluru: The police have arrested 13 persons and seized five petrol bombs in connection with the stone pelting incident which took place during the Datta Jayanti festival here.

Chikkamagaluru District Superintendent of Police Annamalai K said that the Police found five liquor bottles filled with petrol and a wick similar to the ones found in Tamil and Kerala. The police also gathered information that most of the accussed are in the age group between 15-18 years and are residents of the Tamil Colony here.

The police have filed a suo motu case for trying to ransack the name board of tombs on the Dattapeeta premises.

The SP also said that a few youths had hurled stones at police when they were on duty.
