Police service dog ‘Captain’ retires after eight years of service

Police service dog ‘Captain,’ who has served the force for eight distinguished years, officially retired on Friday, October 25. At a farewell ceremony, Superintendent of Police Dr. Arun K., IPS, honored Captain, who received a salute and ceremonial send-off from the police department.

Captain’s service record is exceptional, having successfully conducted over 400 security checks for events featuring dignitaries, including visits by the Prime Minister, President, foreign dignitaries, IPL tournaments, the World Cup, and the Aero Show. Captain has earned a reputation befitting its name, known for excellence in duty.

Captain has also won a gold medal at a regional police duty meet. The retirement ceremony was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police S.T. Siddalingappa, KSPS, DAR Superintendent Timmappa Gowda, KSPS, along with officers and staff from various police stations who gathered to honor Captain’s contribution to public safety.
