Police shoot at accused, injured

Kalaburagi: In a fight between the police and the accused close to the Buddh Vihar on the outskirts of Kalaburagi on Thursday morning, three police constables endured wounds when the latter attempted to nab Mohammad Mustafa who had set his brother-in-law’s house onfire in Kalaburagi a week ago. 

Mohammad Mustafa was shot at and injured after he attacked the police with a blade, while opposing capture. 

He was admitted to the district government general hospital. The injured police constables were admitted to the Basaveshwar Teaching and General Hospital. 

The harmed police constables are Sadar Patel, Saleem and Shivaling. The police additionally recouped a passport and Aadhaar card from the accused. 

Director of Police N. Shashi Kumar went by the spot. 

Mohammad Mustafa set ablaze Syed Akbar’s home at Hussaini Garden area in the city the evening of July 4. Three individuals from the family, including Syed Akbar (42) and wife Shenaaz Begum (35), died two days after the episode.
