Police warn action against circulation of fake victim photo in social media

Mangaluru: District superintendent of police, Laxmi Prasad, has noted that malicious propaganda about personal matters including her academic credentials of the victim girl of the Puttur gang rape case registered at the women’s police station here on July 3rd is being resorted to on in social media and it amounts to violation of law.
The DSP warned that making such information public is against the law and legal action will be taken against those who spread such information.
Meanwhile, the girl in the photograph being circulated on social media is in no way related to this incident, nonetheless it has caused much embarrassment to the girl and her family.
