Mangaluru: “All political parties are not bothered about the farmers and are working as agents for corporate,” said Badagalapura Nagendra, state president of Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene, speaking at an interaction on ‘Problems of farmers and political party’s views.’

“Political parties have been discussing sensitive issues like masjids and mandirs, but such issues will not bring any positive result for the poor farmers. They are accusing each other instead of discussing problems concerning farmers and farmer suicide,” he said.

“During independence, India’s population was around 36 crore and currently the population has increased to 130 crore. Though the government has taken some important measures to boost agricultural production, the farmers are not getting proper price for their produce,” he said urging political parties to address farmer problems.
