‘Pond Man’ Kamegowda, praised by PM, COVID-19 positive

Mandya: Kamegowda (85), also known as the Pond Man for digging 16 ponds all by himself and for which he was praised by the Prime Minister in his Mann Ki Baat radio speech, has tested positive for COVID-19.

The octagenarian who lives at Kalmane in Dasanadoddi village of Malvalli taluk had gone to the taluk as well as the district hospital for a wound in his right leg.

Later he started suffering from respiratory problems after which he was tested for COVID-19 which reported positive.

His house and the road leading to it has now been sealed.
