Mangaluru: An educational consultant, came with a novel idea of making ‘Pookalam’ around the potholes at Pumpwell service road to highlight the poor plight of the road.

Pookalam is an intricate and colorful arrangement of flowers laid on the floor on the occasion of Onam.

Radhika Deemanth Suvarna, who commutes on this stretch of the road often said that the potholes pose accident risks some of which have been fatal. As authorities, seemingly have turned a blind eye to the poor plight of the service roads here she came up with this novel idea to draw their attention.

Whether her campaign produces positive results is yet to be seen.
