Bengaluru: Karnataka Mahila Congress workers on Saturday, August 31 staged a dharna in the state capital demanding sacking of Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi.
The BJP, in a suprising move, appointed Savadi, one of the three ministers caught watching a pornographic video clip during an Assembly session in the year 2012 as state deputy chief minister. Savadi’s appointment also came under fire as he is not an elected MLA or MLC but was still made the deputy CM of Karnataka.
Speaking to media persons, Congress leader Pushpa Amarnath said, “He was caught watching porn in our State Assembly (in 2012), we urge BJP President Amit Shah and PM Modi to sack him.”
Savadi, who is a close friend of disqualified MLA Ramesh Jarakiholi, had reportedly played an important role in destabilising the HD Kumaraswamy-led government.
