Udupi: Pramod Madhwaraj filed nomination as JD(S) candidate for the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency on Monday, March 25. Mr Madhwaraj was chosen as coalition candidate to contest under the JD(S) symbol after JD(S) failed to come up with a suitable candidate for the constituency.

We go by the principles taught by Narayana Guru who said all religions are same. I visited Neelavara, Mahisha Mardhini, Sri Krishana , Mukyaprana and other temples, Doddanagudde mosque and Mother of Sorrows Church before coming here and prayed for the well-being of people of this constituency. I, Madhu Bangaparra and Mithun Rai together will fight for the empowerment of youth, women and farmers,” he assured.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister K J George asked people to fight BJP party with unity and said, “BJP is a communal party and it should be defeated.”
Dr Jayamala said “JD(S) and Congress are one soul. We will fight against BJP with the same spirit.”
JD(S) candidate from Shivamogga Madhu Bangarappa said, “We will fight BJP with the intention of ending communal politics. The victory is ours this time.”
