Pramod Madhwaraj undertakes Padayatra for votes

Udupi: Congress candidate for Udupi constituency Pramod Madhwaraj, accompanied by prominent leaders and thousands of Congress activists, undertook a ‘Padayathra’ to seek the votes of Brahmavar people on Tuesday, May 8.
The road show started from Brahmavar city centre, passed through national highway, old bus stand, taluk office, market road, Barkur entrance, bypass road and concluded at Brahmavar bus stand. Slogans supporting Pramod Madhwaraj, Rahul Gandhi, Siddaramaiah and Congress echoed throughout the rally.
Addressing his supporters Pramod Madhwaraj said, “Looking at my work of five years and the development of Congress government, I am confident that people will re-elect me in the coming assembly elections. Given me a chance again, and I will serve people again. I will not tell that I have fulfilled all the promises made in the previous election, but I have tried my best to fulfill almost all the promises. I have made earnest efforts to get government funds through chief minister and other concerned leaders.
“As promised, we have provided home to the poor, and solved the problem of conventional forest under 94C, 94CC and provided RTC to beneficiaries. To provide 24 hours drinking water for the people of Udupi, Varahi project has been started with budget of Rs 270 crore.”
“I have provided electricity to the district with less number of power cuts. There are some plans which will get completed by the next five years. To solve water problems of Brahmavar region, we will execute multi-village scheme at Thenkanidiyoor and Chantharu villages.”
“There are 213 booths in Udupi constituency. I have planned to conduct booth level public meeting with the presence of all departmental officials, at least once in a year. I am committed to serve the public with honesty and sincerity,” he said.
District Congress president Janardhan Thonse and local leaders of Brahmavar participated in the padayatra.
