Pranab meets Ananth Kumar’s family

Bengaluru: Former President Pranab Mukherjee Tuesday called on the family of former union minister and BJP leader Ananth Kumar who passed away on November 12 at a private hospital here due to lung cancer.

Condoling the death, Mukherjee recalled his association with Kumar during his long political stint.

“The former president arrived at 8 p.m and stayed for about 15 minutes. He spoke to Kumar’s wife Tejaswini Ananth Kumar and other family members were present,” family sources said.

Kumar, a six-time Lok Sabha member from Bengaluru South constituency, besides serving in the Narendra Modi government had been part of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.
