Prashanth Basrur laid to rest in Germany

Kundapur: The final rites of software engineer Prashanth Basrur, who was brutally murdered in Germany, were conducted in south Indian tradition at Augsburg in Germany on Thursday April 4th.

Prashanth’s mother Vinaya, father-in-law Chandramauli Siddapura, mother-in-law Vidya, children and friends took part in the ritual. Prashanth’s wife Smitha is recovering from the grievous injuries she had incurred in the murderous assault on the couple. She requires 3-4 weeks of rest, informed the doctors.

Helping hand

A flood of help is flowing toward the family from their relatives, friends and well-wishers. In a span of only 3 days, Rs 23 lakh (30,548 euros) has been gathered from 455 people through the ‘Go Fund Me’ crowd funding website. This campaign has found a position on the present trending list too.
