Kundapur/Germany: The Guinean man who attacked and killed Prashanth Basrur and grievously injured his wife Smitha near their apartment at Donauworth near Munich, Germany, has been considered as mentally ill.
According to the initial investigation, the attack seems to have been committed due to a disturbed mental state of the attacker and not as an act of vengeance. Medical treatment is currently being provided to the attacker.
Last Friday morning, the Guinean immigrant had spontaneously stabbed Prashanth and Smitha Basrur living in the neighbouring apartment. The attack claimed Prashanth’s life while his wife Smitha was injured grievously. She is currently responding to the treatment provided at a hospital.
Preliminary investigations and primary opinions point towards the possibility that the attack was not on purpose but due to the mental imbalance of the attacker. However the investigation is has not concluded, inform lawyers based in Augsburg.
The arrest warrant of the accused was modified and order of temporary restraint was issued on the request of the advocates. Meanwhile, the attacker is receiving treatment at the district hospital.
According to the police, no friction or quarrel between the youth and Prashanth’s family members leading to the fatal attack was found. Apparently, the accused was overstaying his VISA period. The administration had also denied his request for extension of his VISA and was supposed to be deported during the month of March. Due to these turn of events, the accused was going through mental turmoil and had barged into the office of the administration and behaved rudely.
Moreover, his driving license was cancelled after he was arrested for driving under the influence. Thus he consequently lost his job as a driver, inform the police.
