The state government has decided to hand over the Praveen Nattaru murder case to National Investigation Agency for a detailed probe informed Chief Minister Bommai.
The decision was taken after Bommai chaired a meeting with the DG, IGP, and other senior officials to review the situation.
Speaking to reporters here Bommai said, “Praveen’s murder was an organized crime. I have got all the details on the case. The investigation is being fast-tracked.”
As the crime spans two states, it has been decided to hand over the case to NIA, he added.
Bommai has instructed officials to install CCTV cameras on the Kerala-Karnataka border and also maintain a tight vigil at the check post. KSRP batallion will be despatched to Dakshina Kannada for maintaining the law and order situation. Police have been directed to increase night patrol to prevent any untoward incidents.
