Praveen Nettaru murder: Stones pelted at mosque during funeral procession

Puttur: An incident of stone pelting on a mosque near the Bellare bus stand, during the funeral procession of BJYM leader Praveen Nettaru, has been reported on Wednesday.

Reportedly, thousands of people had gathered during the funeral procession. As the procession reached near the mosque, some miscreants began pelting stones at the mosque.

Meanwhile, police resorted to the lathi charge to bring the situation under control.

As a precautionary measure police have tightened the security and have clamped Section 144 in Puttur, Kadaba, Belthangady, and Sullia.
