Praying for everyone’s well-being, tweets PM as Cyclone”Nisarga” nears Mumbai, Gujarat

Mumbai: Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Maharashtra and Gujarat governments are gearing up to face Cyclonic storm “Nisarga”which is expected to hit the coastal states tomorrow.

Following the India Meteorological Department forecast, Mumbai and neighbouring districts have been placed on high alert.

“Took stock of the situation in the wake of cyclone conditions in parts of India’s western coast. Praying for everyone’s well-being. I urge people to take all possible precautions and safety measures,” tweeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Massive preparations are underway in Mumbai and ten NDRF teams have been deployed for rescue operations in view of ‘Nisarga’ cyclone

In Gujarat, evacuation of around 20,000 people residing in villages near the coast is underway.
