Bharamasagara (Chitradurga): District Deputy Commissioner T Venkatesh has issued an order dismissing Dr. D R Abhishek, who had conducted a pre-wedding video shoot in the operation theater of the Community Health Center here.
Dr. D R Abhishek, who was an ICU doctor at the hospital here, had reportedly done a pre-wedding shoot in the surgery room of the hospital on February 7. The footage of the video went viral on social media and was covered by media outlets.
Taking cognizance of this, the DC in his order stated that the doctor had not taken permission from the hospital’s medical officer. Dr. Abhishek, who was appointed doctor under the National Health Mission on a contract-basis, has been dismissed from service for committing an illegal act, the order said.
In the viral video, Dr. Abhishek is seen enacting a medical procedure on a patient in the operation theater while his wife-to-be is standing on the other side and pretending to help him. The video also features a few other boys laughing while recording the shoot.
This pre-wedding video shoot conducted in the operation theater of a government hospital had caused public outrage.
