Pre-wedding shoot inspired by poet D.R Bendre goes viral

Hampi: A pre-wedding photoshoot is making rounds on social media as the theme of the shoot was Jnanpith awardee poet D.R Bendre.
Couple Chetana Desai and Nikil Maggavi from Dharwad are tying the knot on April 23 and they chose the underlying theme of their pre-wedding shoot as poet D R Bendre’s poems.
The couple and the photographer were showered with an appreciation for bringing the essence of romance from Da Ra Bendre’s poems and reflection of North Karnataka to life through their pictures.
Chetana is a neighbor of Bendre in Sadhankeri of Dharwad and her family has been closely associated with the poet’s family for generations.
Talking about what inspired the shoot, Chetana said that as she lived next door to Bendre’s house Sadhanakeri, their families are close.
She further adds that she was inspired by the stories of Bendre since childhood and is very proud of the photoshoot inspired by the poet.
The theme takes you to the era when Bendre visualized and wrote poems on people from day to day life. Traditional hat, umbrella, and gramophone used by Bendre himself were borrowed from the family for the shoot, which marked the unique feature of the shoot.
Harshad Uday Kamath, founder of Yuva Art Studio and a photographer who is known for his amazing theme-based shoot pictures that went viral.
Talking about how they came up with the theme, Kamath said, “The couple had decided to have a theme showcasing life in North Karnataka. As Chetana is a neighbor of Bendre ajja we decided to choose a theme based on poems penned by Bendre himself,”
He further explained that he had created a village-based theme for pre-wedding shoots in the past but this was something new as they were planning to bring a literary figure into the picture.
He even said that it was a great gesture by the family of Bendre who allowed the use of the belongings used by Bendre himself.
The pre-wedding shoot got a great response on social media and the couple was pleased with the outcome of the shoot.
