Padubidri: The initial preparations for the installation of a RADAR station of IAF is in its first stage on the land belonging to KIADB in Padebettu village.
Based on the letter by the previous Udupi DC, KIADB has identified 25-30 acres of land in the area where exists the uncompleted quarters of NTPC and the same has been forwarded to the special land acquisition of KIADB. Officials from IAF will inspect the area followed by which the transfer process will be conducted, informed sources from KIADB to ‘Udayavani’.
Essential action against terrorist infiltration
The installation of this RADAR is essential to prevent terrorist infiltrating the coast. If the centre is established, then Padubidri-Padebettu village will become a hi-security area. Road connection needs to be provided to this area from Nandikur. The area will neither be busy nor have many houses, inform the sources.
Let proper distribution of layout be conducted
There is no objection to the installation of the RADAR. But proper layout for the residents here be identified and only after the relocation be the land acquisition be carried out – Shrinivas Sharma, Padubidri GP member
