Udupi/Mangaluru: Christians across the coastal belt are readying for celebrating Christmas. Preparations are underway to celebrate the yuletide in a grand manner.
The churches are decked up with celebratory electric lights of all colors ad shades. Christmas Cribs that depict the scenes of the birth of Jesus are being prepared. Stars of all sizes are hanging from buildings and homes.
As is customary, the festivities begin on the evening of December 24 with the singing of Christmas Carols. This will be followed by a special celebratory Mass at churches.
As part of the Christmas celebration of the Udupi Diocese, the Bishop Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo will offer a special festive Mass at Milagres Cathedral in Kallianpur on Saturday night.
For the past 2 years, the Christmas celebrations were muted in view of the Covid pandemic. This time, however, preparations are underway for grand festivities.
