President Ram Nath Kovind to arrive in M’luru on Oct 7

Mangaluru: President Ram Nath Kovind will be staying in Mangaluru on October 7 and 8 as a part of the Karnataka tour.

In a video conference arranged from Bengaluru with the district administration on Wednesday, September 29, to the chief secretary of the state, P Ravikumar, Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, Dr Rajendra K V informed the preparations is underway in the city for the President’s visit.

Rajendra stated that as per the directions of the Rashtrapati Bhavan and protocol, stay, food and other arrangements for the President and the officials and other staff accompanying him will be made in an orderly manner.

“Ambulance service and a team of doctors is ready and the public works department has been instructed to repair the connecting roads. All arrangements will be made in conformity with Covid rules. We will ensure that there will not be power cuts,” he stated.

City corporation commissioner, Akshy Sridhar, deputy commissioner of police, Hariram Shankar, Mescom managing director, Prashant Mishra, assistant commissioner, Madan Mohan, PWD executive engineer Yashwant and officials of various other departments were present.

President’s Mangaluru stay itinerary:

After visiting Bengaluru and Biligiri Rangana Betta in Chamarajanagar district, the President will leave Mysuru airport at 5.20 pm on October 7 and reach the Mangaluru airport at 6.10 pm.

At 6.35 pm, he will arrive in the city and stay at either a private hotel or the Circuit House.

After breakfast the next day, he will reach the airport here at 10.45 am and go to Sringeri temple in a special helicopter at 11.40 am where he will pay obeisance to the presiding deity.

At 3.15 pm he will leave Sringeri and reach the airport here at 3.45 pm. At 4.10 pm he will reach the city and stay overnight. On October 9, after having breakfast, he will leave at 11 am and fly to New Delhi from the airport at 11.25 am.

The President will have vegetarian food during his visit. Milk, fruits, Tawa Chapathi, salad, juice, green tea, sandwiches etc are included in his list of food preferences.
