Prime accused in Bhasker Shetty murder case produced before court

Udupi: The prime accused in the murder case of NRI businessman K Bhaskar Shetty, were produced in court amid tight security here on Monday, July 16th.

 The prime accused including Bhasker Shetty’s wife Rajeshwari Shetty, son Navaneeth Shetty and Nandalike Niranjan Bhat were produced at Udupi district and sessions court after being brought through Bengaluru route. Gulabi Shetty, mother of the deceased Bhaskar Shetty was also present during the court proceedings.

Incident synopsis

Bhaskar Shetty was an NRI businessman who owned businesses in Saudi Arabia and Udupi. On July 28th 2016, he went missing from his house and on July 29th, his mother Gulabi Shetty filed as missing complaint with Manipal police. On August 7th the same year, Rajeshwari (50) and Navneet (20) were arrested by the police on the charges of murdering Bhaskar Shetty and destruction of evidence.
