Indian batter and former team captain Virat Kohli has said that his privacy has been invaded by a fan.
A fan filmed the hotel room Kohli had been staying in during the T20 WorldCup 2022 Super 12 game against the Proteas in Perth on October 31. The fan then posted the video footage on social media. However, Kohli was not amused at all.
In an Instagram post, Kohli wrote: “I understand that fans get very happy and excited seeing their favourite players and get excited to meet them and I’ve always appreciated that. But this video here is appalling and it’s made me feel very paranoid about my privacy.”
Further, he wrote: ” If I cannot have privacy in my own hotel room, then where can I really expect any personal space at all?? I’m NOT okay with this kind of fanaticism and absolute invasion of privacy.”
The cricketer also asked his fans to “Please respect people’s privacy and not treat them as a commodity for entertainment.”
