Bengaluru: Education Minister S Suresh Kumar said that the process for the transfer of teachers will begin shortly.

In a statement, he said that the governor has assented to the amendment to the Karnataka State Civil Services (Regulation of Transfer of Teachers) Act, 2007 which will be published in the official gazette soon.

“The amendments allow a one-time special provision for those who were transferred in the compulsory-additional transfer mode in the year 2019-20,” he said.

“The officials have been instructed that around seventy-two thousand petitions submitted for transfer should be handled through the Shikshaka Mitra app and the entire counselling process should be done online,” the minister added.

Kumar also said that the teachers should not get physically involved in the counselling process so as to maintain the transparency of the entire process.
