Prohibition on Mahisha Dasara celebrations in Udupi

Udupi: With the aim of maintaining law and order and public peace in the district, Deputy Commissioner Dr. K. Vidya Kumari issued an order prohibiting putting up posters, banners, buntings, protesting and marching in favor of Mahisha Dasara celebrations from 6 am on October 14 to 6 pm on October 15.
For that reason, sloganeering, speech, incitement through song, singing and postering are not allowed. Carrying of firearms, bursting of firecrackers and carrying of projectiles is not permitted. Strict action will be taken against those violating the law, the order said.
