Promised jobs in police dept, Rs 18 crore fraud busted

Bengaluru: The CCB has arrested four people in association with a Rs 18 crore fraud case. 

Many job aspirants were cheated off money by promising jobs in the police division. The fraud case was exposed with the arrest of CAR constable Lakshmikanth, who uncovered names of Inspector K P Rajesh, personal assistant to former DGPs H Nagaraj, traffic constable Shabana Begum and CAR constable Lokesh. 

The accused were altogether arrested and cross examined in association with allegation that many people were duped by them between 2013-2017. The accused had taken about Rs 10 lakh to Rs 30 lakh from every individual relying upon the position guaranteed in police division. The sources have said that there is doubt of IAS and IPS officers having been involved with the case. 

It is said that Lokesh and Lakshmikanth started a quarrel when couple of individuals who couldn’t get a job began pestering Lokesh for refund and an alarmed Lokesh first complainrd against Lakshmikanth uncovering the fraud of Rs 18 crore.
