Surathkal: Taking cues from the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh, the properties of persons alleged to be engaged in illegal cattle slaughter are being confiscated in Karnataka.
The Revenue Department has confiscated the properties of Yusuf of Ganjimath, Batish of Arkula, and Hakeem of Katipalla under Section 8 (4) of the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act in 2020.
The local MLA Dr. Bharat Shetty Y. had instructed officials to take stern action as per the law against cattle smugglers. given instructions. Accordingly, Assistant Commissioner Madan Mohan has issued orders to confiscate the properties and prevented their sale, transfer, or renting out for any purposes.
Reacting to the developments, MLA Bharat Shetty Y said that everything has been done as per the provisions of the law. Stringent actions will continue against perpetrators involved in cattle-related crimes, he added.
