Belagavi: Miscreants hang suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma’s effigy in Belagavi on Thursday over her offensive remarks on Prophet Muhammad. The effigy has been hanged on the port road in Belagavi.

Several pro-Hindu organizations have urged the police officials to remove the effigy and also demanded strict action against the miscreants.

Shankar Patil, an independent member of the Mahanagar Palike said, “The effigy must be removed as soon as possible. This isn’t Afghanistan. The court will decide whether  Nupur Sharma is guilty. This move by the miscreants will only create chaos in society. I demand strict action against the accused.”
