Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Corporation’s (MCC) general meeting on Saturday was adjourned for some time after a ruckus over the proposal to rename the Surathkal junction after Veer Savarkar.

BJP members proposed naming Suratkal Junction after Veer Savarkar in the general meeting of the corporation.   Congress members objected to this and strongly voiced their protest. In reply, BJP members raised slogans such as ‘Veer Savarkar Ki Jai.”

The atmosphere turned chaotic soon and the proceedings were adjourned for a while to cool tempers.
