Kalburgi: A voice of separatism has risen amid 62nd Rajyotsava celebrations here on November 1 in Kalburgi where a group of people demanded special recognition for Hyderabad Karnataka for its overall development.
Police arrested more than 50 people who tried to hoist separate Kannada flag in Kalburgi demanding special status for their region for its development as it is being neglected by every government since its formation.
The members of Hyderabad Karnataka Horata Samiti and similar organisations staged protest near Sardar Vallabhai Patel circle for special attention of the state government and said their region remained undeveloped even if 371 (J) implemented in the region. With failure of 371(J), the protesters raise their voice for separate state.
