PSI recruitment scam: Candidate who secured top spot arrested

‎Kalaburagi: CID police have arrested a top ranker in the rigged PSI recruitment examination.

Sources said that Rachana who had secured the top spot in the women’s quota in the exam was arrested for alleged irregularities.

Rachana, a resident of Basavanabagewadi in Vijayapura district, had been missing ever since the PSI scam came to light. For one and a half months she remained elusive evn though the CID were on her lookout.

She was arrested from hiroli Checkpost on the Maharashtra-Karnataka border, sources said. On Saturday, Rachana was brought to Kalaburagi and will be produced before the 5th JMFC court judge in Kalaburagi.

‎A CID team from Bengaluru has arrived in Kalaburagi for taking Rachana’s custody, sources added.‎
