Chikmagalur: On charges of dereliction of duty the police department has suspended city police station PSI on Wednesday.

It is gathered that that city station PSI Raghu and police constables had attacked former Zilla Panchayat member Arekudige Shivanna at KSRTC bus stand, the BJP leaders angered over this complained to the Superident of Police demanding action against the PSI and constables.

Following the complaint, a police team led by IGP (West) Arun Chakravarthy conducted an internal investigation into the allegation of dereliction of duty of PSI Raghu and after the allegation was proved, the department suspended Raghu, informed sources.
