Mysuru: The Pre-University Education Department is taking several measures to prevent paper leaks during the II PU examinations, scheduled to commence from March 4.
Among the few measures that the board has chalked out, students will not be allowed to leave the examination hall till the last bell. In case of any emergency, the student can leave the exam hall but s/he will be required to surrender the question paper to authorities in the hall.
This is being done to ensure question papers aren’t circulated during exam hours by those who exit the hall before the last bell.
Apart from this the department it is gathered has also asked officials to shut down cyber cafes, xerox outlets operating in the center’s vicinity. The department is also planning a ban on mobile phones inside examination halls. Use of basic non-camera phones, however, will be allowed for emergency purposes.
In the backdrop of allegations that few students leave blank pages in their answer sheet, which is filled by the examiners later, the department has asked invigilators to stamp the last page of the answer sheets.
