PU student, juvenile arrested for circulating fake PU paper

Bengaluru: Nearly a month after a picture of II PUC Kannada language examination paper was circulated on Whatsapp, the cyber crime police arrested a PU student and a juvenile from Yadgir district.
The arrested Manjunath along with his friend, who is a minor confessed to the charges and told the police that they played a prank to create panic among students.
It may be recalled that on March 14, two days before the scheduled examination a copy of the Kannada exam paper was circulated on social media leading to concerns of a paper leak. An investigation, however, revealed that there was no paper leak and miscreants had circulated a copy of previous years examination paper by changing the year.
Acting on the complaint lodged by the Department of Pre University Education the CCB police began investigations and questioned some 30 persons who had received the messages.
The investigation led them to Yadgir from where the two youths were arrested. While Manjunath has been remanded in judicial custody, the minor has been handed over to the State home for boys.
