Bengaluru: A boy made a bomb hoax call to the Yelahanka Railway station control room all for stopping his PUBG playing friend from boarding a train.

The 12-year-old boy from Bagalur Vinayak Nagar had been addicted to PUB-G. He used to be glued to his smartphone. Noticing his behaviour, his parents had taken back his smartphone. But, he used to play the game without the notice of his parents.

On March 30, his friend who played PUBG was to leave the city on Kachigudda Express from Yelahanka Railway station. The boy was upset that he wouldn’t be able to play his favourite game and hatched a plan to stop his friend from leaving.

He called up the control room, on March 30 at around 11.30 AM, using his mother’s mobile phone. HE told the controller, “A bomb has been planted in Yelahanka Railway Station” and cut the call.

After receiving the call, an alert was sounded at the station. The bomb squad were called in and the premises were thoroughly checked. The call was proven a hoax.

Later, the authorities traced the origin of the call and came to know of the boy’s shenanigans. When questioned, the boy confessed to calling the control room. He said he wanted to intimidate his friend, but the call mistakenly went to the control room instead.

Considering his age, the boy was let go after a stern warning from the authorities not to indulge in such behaviour.
