Pumpwell, Thokottu over-bridge: Finish on time or face disciplinary action – DC

Mangaluru: The contractors are showing very slow progress in the construction of the Pumpwell and Thokottu over-bridge. The work on the over-bridges must be completed within the prescribed time, if not, disciplinary action will be taken, warned deputy commissioner Sasikanth Senthil.
He was speaking at the Dakshina Kannada (DK) district development coordination and in-charge committee meeting at Netravati hall of the DK Zilla Panchayat. The meeting was presided over by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel who took exception of the contractor’s negligence.
Sampaje Ghat road has been rectified for temporary transport for now. The report has already been sent to the DC of Kodagu and on receiving his agreement; the road could be opened for heavy vehicle transport, informed Sunnaraya, executive engineer national highway. There is a proposal to permanently develop this ghat at the cost of Rs 500 crore, he added.
Deadline for Plastic Park
MP Nalin said that the construction work to create Plastic Park at Ganjimata should begin by February month.
