Bengaluru: Sampigehalli police have arrested Hindu activist Puneeth Kerehalli on accusations of derogatory and caste-abusive posts on social media.

The arrests were made based on a complaint filed by pro-Kannada activist Bhairappa Harish Kumar against Puneeth at the Sampigehalli police station.

Puneeth Kerehalli allegedly made these objectionable posts on his Facebook account.

Puneeth back in jail:

Puneeth Kerehalli was recently arrested by the CCB police under the Goonda Act. Later, he had approached the Karnataka High Court for relief. On the directions of the High Court, the Karnataka government had constituted an advisory committee.

Puneeth was let off after the committee opinion that there was insufficient evidence to keep him in custody.
