A unique event ‘Puneeth Namana’ by the Sandalwood industry is all set to pay rich tributes today to the memory of late superstar Puneeth Rajkumar. The program will be held at the Palace Grounds under the aegis of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce. Prominent dignitaries from fields of cinema, politics, sports, and industry have been invited to the mega tribute event.

In addition to Kannada filmstars, bigwigs from Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi cinema are also expected to attend. The event will begin at 3 PM and will go on till 6 PM, sources said.

The program is expected to begin with a musical tribute to ‘Appu’ by V Nagendra Prasad and Gurukiran led teams.

Invitees only event:

Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce has informed that only invitees will be allowed in the ‘Puneeth Namana’ program. Arrangements have been made for seating, meals, and stage for about 1,500 dignitaries. Unfortunately, neither Appu’s fans nor the public can directly participate in the event, the Chamber of Commerce clarified.

Program passes in great demand:

As per the organizers, a maximum of 2,000 people can attend the event. However, more than 26,000 requests for the passes have been received from the Kannada cinema world alone, sources said. There is a huge demand for the program pass from film artists, producers, technicians, workers, and members of the chamber of commerce.

However, the event organizers said they can admit only 2,000 dignitaries to the event due to regulations.
