Puneeth Rajkumar to be conferred with Karnataka Ratna award posthumously

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government on Tuesday decided to honour late actor Puneeth Rajkumar with Karnataka Ratna, the highest civilian award in the state.
“State Government has decided to honour late Sri Puneet Rajkumar with Karnataka Ratna award posthumously,” said Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
The actor will be the 10th recipient of the state’s highest civilian honour. The award was last given to Veerendra Heggade in 2009.
The announcement was made by the Chief Minister at a special event called ‘Puneeth Namana’ held in Bengaluru on Tuesday. The event was held at Palace Grounds in Bengaluru under the aegis of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce.
Puneeth Rajkumar passed away at the age of 46, after suffering a cardiac arrest on Friday, October 29.
