The Chief Minister said that he used to celebrate his birthday by visiting orphanages and charity events for children. This time, he said, he had adopted 11 cattle on his birthday.
The scheme had been announced during the maiden budget speech of the CM on March 4. It aims to encourage public and the private institutions to adopt a cow at cow shelters (Goshalas) by paying an annual fee of Rs 11,000.
