Puttur: 3 daily wage workers seriously injured in jeep-auto collision

Puttur: Three persons were seriously injured when a jeep smashed into the auto rickshaw they were traveling in at Poyyole, in Keyyur village here on Saturday.

The injured identified as Praveen, guru, and Anish had hired the autorickshaw. The jeep, which was heading towards Derla from Keyyur, smashed into the oncoming rickshaw carrying daily wage workers.

The injured were rushed to the Puttur Hospital but were later referred to a hospital in Mangaluru for advanced treatment.

Rickshaw driver Giridhara Ethyadka and jeep driver Chandrasekhar Kaniyar were out of danger, sources said.

Sampya police visited the accident spot. A case has been registered at the rural police station.
